There are two types of Ukraine residence permit: a temporary Ukraine residence permit allows to stay in the country for up to a year, while a permanent Ukraine residence permit allows someone stay in the country indefinitely.

TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PERMIT
The following documents are required to process a temporary Ukraine residence permit:
- A copy of the client’s passport
- A copy of the client’s type-D visa
- A Ukrainian translation of the passport
- A Ukrainian translation of the type-D visa
- Insurance
- Four passport photos (3.5 x 4.5 cm)

- A work permit
Note: it is an employer’s obligation to inform the Immigration Office about an individual’s early dismissal or contract termination
For studies
- A document confirming enrolment in Ukrainian university
Note: it is a university’s obligation to inform the Immigration Office about the expulsion of a student holding a temporary residence permit
For a family reunification
- A petition of a citizen of Ukraine, who is married to the foreign individual
- A document confirming marriage to a citizen of Ukraine
For individuals who work with religious organisations
- A petition from the inviting organization
- Documents indicating the registration of the religious organization in Ukraine
To participate in international technical assistance projects
- A petition from the inviting organization
- A copy of the registration card of the international technical assistance project
To participate in the activities of subsidiaries, branches, representative offices of foreign non-governmental organizations
- A petition from the inviting organization
- A certificate of registration of the foreign non-governmental organization in Ukraine
To work in the offices of foreign legal entities in Ukraine
- A petition from the inviting organization
- A certificate of registration of the representation
To work in branches or offices of foreign banks
- A petition from the inviting organization
- A certificate of accreditation of a branch or a office
To carry out cultural, scientific and educational activities (in accordance with international agreements or special programs)
- A petition from the inviting organization
To participate in international and regional volunteer programs or to participate in the activities of volunteer organisations
- A petition from the inviting organization
- A certificate of state registration of the volunteer organization
For a correspondent or a representative of foreign media
- A petition from the foreign media organization
- A submission to the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting
PERMANENT RESIDENCY
The following documents are required to process a permanent residency permit:

- An immigration permit
